Cubs Get Rockies Road Win

The Cubs began the 2nd half of the season on the road, in Denver, with a win over Colorado.

Jeff Samardzija had a bit of an unraveling of sorts in his last 2 starts but, the Cubs starter seems to have reconciled any unraveling at the end of the first half, allowing only 1 ER on 4 hits in 7 innings plus to begin the 2nd half of the season.

Alfonso Soriano added another HR on the boards, and the Cubs won the game, 3-1. More details of this game available on the Cubs Home Page.

Other Cubs notes include Junior Lake graduating to the seniors from Iowa, covering the roster spot left open by, Brian Bogusevic’s entry on to the 15 day DL.

Lake made his MLB debut last night, covering David DeJesus’ spot in CF against the Denver based Rockies, and did so with 3 hits in 4 ABs.

Cubs, and Rockies continue tonight from Coors Field with the 2nd of 3.
