Lake Hits The Bricks
Junior Lake has been a little quiet since his splash, bang, boom coming up to the Cubs but, last night, Lake broke out of the silence.
Lake splashed in to the bricks at Wrigley to chase down a fly. Coming to the plate, Lake sent 2 HRs in to the record books.
Initial reports have Lake on the OK list, instead of the DL list. He seems to be very resilient, using the bricks as something to bounce off of. Other reports have him saying, he is now, acutely aware the walls around Wrigley are made of bricks.
If that wasn’t enough, he was joined by Anthony Rizzo who, also launched 2 HRs in the game, and the Cubs had 4 right there. The Cubs were otherwise held back by Dodger pitching, as Darwin Barney contributed the Cubs only other hit in the game.
Chris Rusin started for the Cubs, allowing 4 ERs on 7 Hs in 5 IP.
All of this Cubs activity was not enough for the Cubs to win as the Dodgers were not distracted in a 6-4 win for Los Angeles.
