Cubs Can Fish

in all there were 22 hits split evenly between the Marlins, and Cubs on Wednesday at Wrigley Field. Each club had an error.

The Marlins had a protective 7-4 lead in the 7th. They were at Wrigley Field, and unfortunately the Cubs don’t make it a habit to win at home.

The Marlins had a 4 run 6th to which the Cubs answered with a run.

Through the 7th, it looked like the home curse was in tact as the Marlins led 7-4.

Surprise! Bottom of the 7th, and the Cubs score 4, including a 2 run quad pack smack from Donnie Murphy to solidify the final outcome.

The Cubs added 1 for insurance in the 8th, and when the gates closed at Wrigley the Cubs had 2 surplus runs, beating the Miami squad, 9-7. The re-cap is available on the Cubs Home Page.

Milwaukee takes up some real estate at Wrigley beginning Friday with a daytime contest as the Cubs, and Brewers bid to stay out of the cellar in the NL Central.
