Cubs Travel On A Rocky Road

If you were watching last night’s game, did you get the same impression I did after the top half of the first inning?  What impression?  Felt really bad for Chicago’s starting pitcher, Dallas Beeler.

Beeler was roughed up for 4 runs, and when the third out was finally recorded, the momentary look on his face said it all.  Tough day at work before he hardly got started.

Travis Wood took the mound after 1.3 innings.  Wood gave up a run, and a hit.

As the TV crew suggested, Wood might re-join the starting rotation should there be no trade.  That might be some temporary relief in the starting rotation until there’s a permanent fix.  Get it?  Temporary relief in the starting rotation.  The creativity never stops:-)

Anyway, Colorado managed to hold the lead to finish off the Cubbies as detailed on the Official MLB Cubs Home Page.
