Cubs Take Two From Texas
The Cubs found themselves mesmerized by, former Phillie, and current Ranger pitcher Cole Hamels.
The Cubs last faced off with him as a Philadelphia Phillie last year. Hamels no-hit the Cubs at home.
This time it wasn’t a no-hitter for Hamels but, it was certainly more than enough to tame the Cubs.
John Lackey started for the Cubs with a performance that was in need of want. The want being a performance that would be a break-out for him, and right in line with a rested Cubs team ready to push the second half of the season.
That wouldn’t be the case as Texas was hitting in to the 2nd inning with a 2-0 lead.
The Cubs bench was unable to fall in line, today scoring only 1 run on 4 hits. The only Cubs run came in the 3rd.
The Cubs get 2 of 3 in the series, and prep for the Mets.
It would be nice to see the Cubs push the Mets around a little bit as the two teams have been evenly matched lately but, the Mets have taken a dominant edge since the NLCS 2015.
