Sox-It Science

So okay, if the Cubs roll it out to a tie in their half of the 9th.  Better prep for extras.

Not too fast.  It was a brand of baseball Chicago fans have been getting used to this year.  Coming back!

After trailing for most of the game, the Cubs appeared to have done it, again.  They scored 2 in the 9th to tie.

It was that other Chicago team that took on the final role of coming back, and did so against their cross town adversaries with a run in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Cubs 5-4.

Jake Arrieta did not get the win following a start at U.S. Cellular Field on the South side. Unfortunately, Arrieta was not razor sharp.  Fortunately Arrieta won’t post the game to his W-L record.

Mike Montgomery gave up the winning run, and was the losing pitcher.

The 2nd of this 4 game set tonight from U.S. Cellular Field with Kyle Hendricks getting the start for the Cubs.

Games 3, and 4 move across town to Wrigley Field Wednesday, and Thursday.
