Cubs Pen No Bull

The Cubs, and Giants combined for 5 runs in the 1st inning.  The game was not looking so hot after half inning the Giants had already scored 2 runs but, the Cubs scored 3 in the bottom of the 1st.

The 2nd inning showed the Giants would not let this go so easily as they tied the game at 3 each.

The 3-3 was only good for 2 as the Giants led the Cubs 4-3 which held until the 7th.

The Cubs pitching staff threw the Giants goose eggs from the 4th inning.  In the 7th, it was the Cubs bench pushing across 2, re-claiming their early lead.

The Cubs Bullpen seems to have a good mix if last night tells the story.  They combined, as Joe Smith got the win, and Carl’s Jr. Edwards ate up his first MLB career save.  Cubs starter, Mike Montgomery had nothing to do with it.

The game detail kit is available on the official Cubs Digital-Media Suite.

It’s a brand new Cubs-Giants ball game today with Jon Lester beginning his daily pitching activity at 120 pm – CDT from Wrigley Field.
